Exam Registration and Payment

AP Exam Registration & Payment Information

Step 1: Join your teacher's AP Classroom

  • All students will be able to join an AP Classroom on the College Board MyAP website where they can access College Board provided course resources and materials, as well as an individualized performance dashboard.
  • Teachers will be able to use the resources in MyAP Classroom for assignments, classroom activities, tests, quizzes, and more.
  • Students will log into the MyAP website using their College Board account credentials and join their AP Classrooms with the JOIN CODE (access code) that will be distributed by their teacher.

Step 2: Activate exam on MyAP

  • Once students have joined the class on MyAP, they will indicate if they plan to take the AP exam for that class. To indicate YES, click on the yellow box that says "Register for Exam" and confirm your response. The deadline to confirm your response via MyAP is September 25, 2025.
  • AP exams are optional. Students must indicate YES to take the exam, and payment must be received by the deadlines indicated.

Step 3: Submit exam deposit

  • The cost per exam is $110.
  • Students who have an active exam in the MyAP system as of September 25, 2025, will receive an invoice via email from APTS. An invoice will be emailed to the parent email address associated with the student's College Board account. A $40 deposit must be paid by November 5, 2026. The remaining balance is due by February 12, 2027.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I can't log into my College Board account?

  • Don't create a new one! Each student should have only ONE College Board account which houses AP, PSAT and SAT scores and information. For log in help visit: https://pages.collegeboard.org/account-help or https://myap.collegeboard.org

What if I qualify for a fee reduction?

  • All students regardless of status submit a $40 per exam deposit by November 5. Students who have successfully been approved for Free-Reduced Lunch status AND who sit for the exam in May will possibly be eligible for a partial refund per MI State subsidies (Subsidies TBD).

How do I submit the fees?

  • Exams are $110 each. You will receive a custom invoice for a $40 per exam deposit based on the exams you activated on MyAP. Payment can be submitted by clicking the View Invoice button in the invoice email OR by mailing in a check or money order. (Instructions on the invoice.) A second invoice will be issued in January for any balance due. A 3.9% credit card processing fee is charged for debit/credit card payments.

I want to add an exam that is NOT on my invoice. What do I do?

  • Email info@aptsusa.com to request an updated invoice. You will need to confirm that you have also joined the College Board MyAP dashboard with the appropriate Join Code for your exam. Penalty fees apply for registering an exam as of November 16, 2026. FINAL Day to add an exam or make payments is February 12, 2027.
