DECA students

Seven Utica High School marketing students earned top honors in the DECA State Career Development Conference.

The students had earned the right to participate in the national DECA conference in April which was canceled due to COVID-19.

The students represent the top one percent of marketing students.

Students earning honors include:

  • Ryan Fromm & Paulina Martinez-Hernandez-School Based Enterprise. The students wrote a 25 page paper to re-certify the school store and a medal for a top presentation
  • Keagan Mahar, Lauryn Holmes and Ryan VanHeusden-Integrated Marketing Campaign-Service. The students wrote a 10 page promotional plan, presentation and took a 100 question marketing test.  They not only had a top score on the paper/presentation but top scores on their testing.
  • Nolan Dishman & Shane Lutz-Integrated Marketing Campaign-Product. The students wrote a 10 page promotional plan, presentation and took a 100 question marketing test.  They also had top scores on the presentation and testing. 

The UHS marketing teacher is Dana Boice.
